CURRENT STATUS
The partial DHS government shutdown that began on February 14, 2026 has been resolved. Congress reached a funding deal and all DHS operations have returned to normal.
TSA PreCheck: Fully operational. Was briefly threatened during the shutdown but never actually suspended.
Global Entry: Fully restored at all participating airports. Kiosks are operational and interview scheduling has resumed.
Global Entry Interviews: Scheduling has resumed. If your interview was cancelled during the shutdown, you can now rebook through the Trusted Traveler Programs website.

Rebook Cancelled Interviews
If your Global Entry interview was cancelled during the shutdown, visit the Trusted Traveler Programs (TTP) website to schedule a new appointment.

Is Global Entry working again?
Yes. Global Entry has been fully restored at all participating airports. Kiosks are operational and you can use Global Entry as normal when arriving on international flights.

Was TSA PreCheck ever actually suspended?
No. DHS initially announced a suspension of TSA PreCheck on February 22, but reversed the decision the same day. TSA PreCheck remained fully operational throughout the entire shutdown.
Does CLEAR still work at airports?
Yes. CLEAR is a private company and was never affected by the DHS shutdown. CLEAR Plus continues to work as normal, moving you to the front of the TSA PreCheck line.
My Global Entry expired during the shutdown. What do I do?
You will need to renew your membership through the Trusted Traveler Programs website. Processing times should return to normal now that operations have resumed.
